Yipe! 5 - Help for Playing Yipe! 5
Character Attributes
Your Yipe character has a number of attributes that represent your characters makeup -- how strong you are, how much health you have, etc. On this page, we'll talk about a few of those in more detail.
Strength: This helps you bash monsters. More strength = more damage. This also influences your special ability if you have the Mighty Fist Bash.
Dexterity: This helps you avoid being hit in combat. Also influences some late game things from impacting you as much.
Intelligence: Apparently the higher intelligence you have, the less likely you will choke on your food. As a result, a higher intelligence helps you heal for higher amounts.
Level: As you play Yipe, your character will advance in levels. You start at 1. Your level does have an influence on various aspects of the game, including combat. The higher your level, the better.
Experience (Exp): You will gain experience as you progress in the game. Killing Zombie Bunnies, finding chests, finishing quests, etc. This will continue to grow as you progress throughout the game and is used in calculating when you 'level up'.
Health (HP): In Yipe, you never truly 'die'. But you still do have a current and max health. You can bring your current health up to your max by eating heal items (e.g., cheeseburgers) or drinking certain potions. You'll also find areas in the game that will heal you. Your max health will go up as you level up. If your health does go down to 0 during combat, you will end up in Yipe Hell.
Special (SP): Special, or Special Points (SP), represent how many times you can use your special ability in combat. This will naturally regenerate (up to your max) over time. At some point in the game, you'll find a place you can increase your SP.
Total Items: You'll see your count of items you're carrying in a couple places, both in stats windows and the items screen. So, how exactly is this calculated? Your healing items all count based on how many total you have of each. 3 Cheeseburgers = 3 item spots. Your weapons and armors don't count. Your potions work the same as heals. Your spray bottles, don't count as item spots. Those just clip onto your belt, of course. So even if you have a spray bottle with 5 sprays, that won't count towards your item spots. Lastly, the items you collect for Hut Quests DO count. But... to make it super easy to understand, multiple items of the same type only count as a single item in your total item count. Got it? Ha... here's an example of that. Need to collect Chicken Feathers? If you have 0 collected so far, your total item spot impact is 0. However if you have found 1, 3 or even 10 chicken feathers, your total item spot impact is 1.
